Safety at Crib

Last Updated: July 24, 2025

At Crib, your safety and trust are central to everything we build. While our goal is to help you find the right roommate or rental situation, we understand that connecting with new people—especially online—can come with risks. That’s why we’re committed to giving you the tools, transparency, and guidance you need to make informed decisions and stay in control of your experience.

Crib is a platform that facilitates roommate matching and rental connections. We do not own or manage any properties, and we do not vet users in person. Because of this, we encourage you to treat all interactions on the Platform with the same caution and care you would in any real-world scenario. It’s important to trust your instincts, take your time, and never feel pressured to move forward with a match, conversation, or living arrangement that doesn’t feel right.

We encourage all users to verify identities through conversation, video calls, and social media links before meeting in person or committing to a lease. Crib does not conduct criminal background checks or in-person identity verification at this time. While we may remove users who violate our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, we cannot guarantee the character or behavior of any individual using the Platform.

If you ever feel uncomfortable, harassed, or unsafe while using Crib, we urge you to report the user or interaction through the in-app reporting tool or by emailing cribapp.co@gmail.com. Reports are confidential and reviewed by our team as quickly as possible. We reserve the right to remove any user or content that violates our policies or poses a threat to the safety of others.

When meeting a potential roommate in person, we recommend choosing a public location and letting someone you trust know where you’ll be. If you decide to move in with someone you met through Crib, be sure to communicate expectations clearly, agree on financial terms in writing, and understand your rights and responsibilities as a tenant. We strongly advise reviewing any lease agreement with a trusted friend, family member, or legal professional before signing.

If a situation escalates or you ever feel physically unsafe, we urge you to contact your local authorities immediately. Crib cannot intervene in emergencies but will cooperate with law enforcement if contacted with an appropriate legal request.

We are continuously working to improve the safety of our platform, and your feedback plays a big role in that. If you have suggestions, concerns, or ideas about how we can better protect users, please reach out to us at cribapp.co@gmail.com.

Your safety is your right. Crib exists to help you find better roommates—not put you at risk. Use your judgment, look out for yourself, and don’t hesitate to speak up if something feels off. We’ve got your back.
